HONEYDALE FARM, SHIPTON
In 2018 we were contacted by an old client, whose house we had built 10 years earlier, to enquire whether we would be interested in building a food and farming education centre and this is what we produced …….
Now known as FarmEd ( education ) and FarmEat ( restaurant ) we followed the script from start to finish producing a stunning farm courtyard style series of 3 buildings.
We used steel and timber framed structures, lots of glass and insulated throughout with a thick layer of sheep’s wool, larch clad externally with a mixture of timbers internally.
Heated with an air source heat pump supplying heat to under floor heating throughout with additional heat from a wood burning stove and vast Pizza oven. It is a now a hub where thousands of farmers, growers, students, politicians and anyone interested in farming or eating with the planet in mind come to learn, eat and enjoy themselves .
